Shell Education boasts honor as AEP 2009 Award Finalist!

Educational publisher, Shell Education, is proud to be honored as The Association of Educational Publishers (AEP) 2009 Award Finalist in three Distinguished Achievement Award categories.

Huntington Beach, CA, May 5, 2009 - The Association of Educational Publishers (AEP) recently announced the highly-anticipated list of Award Finalists for 2009, which includes Shell Education (SEP). Honored to be among the "best of the best" in educational publishing, Shell Education is proud to again be vying for these sought-after awards.

Recognized as a finalist of three Distinguished Achievement Awards, Shell Education boasts two resources selected in the Curriculum category. Reading and Writing Strategies for Mathematics, a finalist in Reading and Language Arts, this series is designed to help all students read, write, and understand mathematics content. In addition, Shell is a finalist in the Special Education category with Leveled Texts for Science: Earth & Space, Physical, and Life Science Series, which contains high-interest texts written at four reading levels with supporting student activities. Another resource, Talking About Text: Guiding Students to Increase Comprehension Through Purposeful Talk, was selected in the Professional Development, Guided Reading category. This professional guide written by Maria Nichols features a foreword by Peter Johnston and contains effective research-based strategies, model lessons, and support for K-8 teachers in defining purposeful talk, why it is important, and how it increases comprehension.
