Educational Publisher Hits Jackpot of Distinguished Achievement Awards!

Huntington Beach, CA, June 10, 2008 - The Association of Educational Publishers (AEP) recently announced the official winners of the prized Distinguished Achievement Awards (DAA) for 2008. Shell Education (Shell) experienced more than anticipated on June 6th when its representatives were repeatedly called up to the podium to accept several honors.

Shell Education was presented with four awards -- one for its Reading and Writing Strategies series for both social studies and science, and the Leveled Texts for Social Studies series within the English language learners category. The Elections book won in the Social Studies Activity Books category, and in the Professional Development category, Shell is pleased to have picked up an award for Teaching Reading in the Content Areas for Elementary Teachers, part of the Professional Development for Successful Classroom series.

Shell Education develops supplemental educational resources that are research based, and meet the standards of all 50 states. By working closely with teachers to develop top quality resources, Shell provides practical, classroom-tested ideas and professional development resources to administrators and educators internationally.

The Association of Educational Publishers is a nonprofit, professional organization for educational publishers. Founded in 1895, AEP began as a university-based association, which has grown to aid communication between educational organizations including policy makers, teachers, educational foundations and associations, and the education media. AEP's primary focus is to actively create a public awareness of effective educational resources.
